Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to information when you visit audiosignalnotes.com (the "Site"). It is written to be readable rather than exhaustive, and the short version is this: the calculators send nothing anywhere, and the only third parties involved are the advertising systems described in section 4.

1. Who is responsible

The Site is operated by the individual publisher identified on the contact page, who is the data controller for the limited processing described below. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to hello@audiosignalnotes.com.

2. Information the calculators handle

The tools on this Site (dB conversion, IEEE 754 conversion, window generation, FFT and RMS analysis, coherence, FIR design, CRC, Nyquist and acoustic timing) execute entirely in your browser. Values you type, and any file you open in a tool, are processed in memory on your device. They are not transmitted to the Site's operator and they are not stored on any server. Closing or reloading the page discards them.

3. Information collected automatically

The Site is served as static files by a hosting provider. Like almost all web hosting, the provider may record standard request data in server logs — IP address, time of request, requested URL, referrer and user-agent — for security, abuse prevention and aggregate traffic statistics. That processing is carried out by the hosting provider as part of delivering the Site.

The Site sets no first-party cookies of its own and runs no first-party analytics or tracking scripts. Visitor statistics, where used, are aggregate and do not identify individuals.

4. Advertising and third-party cookies

The Site is supported by advertising delivered by Google and its advertising partners through Google AdSense.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the internet.

Advertising and analytics storage are disabled by default. Consent Mode signals are set to "denied" before any tag loads, and a consent message provided through a Google-certified consent management platform asks for your choice before any advertising or analytics cookie may be used in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time through the privacy settings link shown on the consent message or in the Site footer.

5. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)

• Consent — for advertising and analytics cookies and for personalised advertising (Article 6(1)(a)).
• Legitimate interests — for security, abuse prevention and the delivery of the Site's static content (Article 6(1)(f)).

6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you; to restrict or object to processing; to withdraw consent; and to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. This Site does not sell personal information in the ordinary sense of the word; opting out of personalised advertising via the links in section 4 prevents the sharing of your data for cross-context behavioural advertising.

7. Children

The Site is aimed at technical professionals and is not directed to children under 16. Personal information from children is not knowingly collected. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please make contact so it can be removed.

8. International transfers

Advertising and hosting services used by the Site may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Those transfers rely on the safeguards put in place by the respective providers, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

9. Retention

The Site's operator holds no visitor account data and therefore retains nothing personal beyond correspondence you send by email, which is kept only as long as needed to deal with the matter. Retention by third-party advertising and hosting providers is governed by their own policies.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the services used or in applicable law. The revision date at the top of the page is always current, and material changes are reflected there rather than announced separately.
